It did not take the Amazon company much long to really figure out that they could kick Apple’s behind by really doing just one thing when it comes to the Kindle 3D Wi-Fi: to offer for free its 3G Wi-Fi literally anywhere on the globe to the owners of Kindle 3G Wi-Fi. This was the one thing that really gave Kindle the upper hand on Apple’s iPad and was really all the required the increase public interest in the 3rd generation Kindle, apart from the Kindle battery life.

This really does make the iPad look worse by each day. Not only does the iPad cost around USD 800 for its good version, with an additional USD 90/month for Wi-Fi and calling service: it is bulky and big, a little too big to fit in a traveling bag. The Kindle battery life also exceeds that of the iPad.

But on the other hand the Kindle 3G Wi-Fi really has a lot of stuff which is in its favor. Firstly, all the “free Wi-Fi” stuff is definitely an option which is great. All you really have to do is to pay the onetime cost of USD 189 for the device, and you really are ready to get free Wi-Fi for entire life of the ebook reader. Then of course there is the edge that the Kindle has of having a compact size, and being slim. Whilst the iPad by Apple reaches 10” in its height, the Kindle 3G Wi-Fi measures just 4.8×7.5 inches. That is a lot of difference. Kindle battery life is also a big plus for the Kindle. This makes the Kindle a lot more easier to hold on bleachers in the middle of watching your kids around the bases as well as taking water breaks.

Now what I will say about the iPad is this: it is definitely a little more easier to browse on the internet on the iPad than on the Kindle 3G Wife. But that being delivered, it is a lot cheaper to be using the Kindle as a tool to browse the internet than to use the iPad, would you not agree? So it is worth it browsing the internet for free than to be paying $90 for internet connectivity! Also, the 3G Wi-Fi comes in two very different colors, graphite and white. The graphite color resists stains and the fingerprint marks more than the white colored ones, but the white ones really does give you that ‘iPad’ look if that is what is important to an individual. Oh and did I mention the part about the Kindle battery life? More on that later. And there is the matter that it is relatively easy to get your hands on decorative covering for the Kindle to really give it your own little touch.

But the thing I like the best about the Kindle is the Kindle battery life. Yeah, the life of the battery on a Kindle 3G Wi-Fi by far surpasses the previous generations on Kindle and the Apple iPad. According to Amazon the battery can last up to three weeks if the Wi-fi is on and one full month when it is turned off. So you really do not have to go around carrying charging cables so that you can keep using the Kindle. Hence this device really is a must-have for people who are into gadgets.
